EXEMPTED!!

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So, I got up a 9 this morning, my bags were packed, I was totally nervous about the oral examination... Decided to call the university anyways,at least to get my appointment...

I got a 3 in every part of the written exam! ( it's the highest you can get) and so I was exempted from the oral examination! wouuuuuuuu-houuuuuuuuuu!

I did it! I did the DSH and got the best results possible!

yay me!

so, I obviously did not go to Berlin, I am now packing my stuff up for the move, which is next week. we heard yesterday that our appartment is ready... yay!

yeah, I got a couple of those once. I was pretty T-o'ed that my blog was being used to advertise.

Anyway, congrats on your test. I'll be moving to germany in a few months myself and would like to pick up a little bit of the language before I go. Do you have any advice on the best way to go about it?

anthony: wow! how come you're moving here? Work? I believe the best way to go anout it is if you have a Goethe Institut in your city, they offer language courses and teahc you at the same time about german culture. Where are you from? If you are in a big city, there are surely german cultural activities or something where you can go to. The most important thing when learning a new language is just to talk as much as possible. Where in Germany will you be moving? Germany is not bilingual: don't expect people to be able to talk english here. Some do ( the younger ones, generally) but quite often you will get service in german only...

Yes, I'm moving to Germany in December/January because of work. I don't know where yet, only that I am tentatively scheduled for a transfer to germany (there is still a chance I might get stuck going to texas instead). As for a Goethe Institute, I am unfortunately in a very small town without one. St. Louis might have one, but I'm too busy during the week to make the 90 minute drive. Thanks for the advice though. I appreciate it.
